In Invisible Man, Ellison depicts a narrator trying to find himself outside of everyone else's expectations of him. He moves through several senses of identity until he finally realizes that he needs to be his own man. Have you ever experienced feeling as if you are unsure of who you are in light of what others expect you to be? If so, explain.
